Welcome to the Life After Mental Illness Blog

I met Bill MacPhee a few years ago as I was doing research on Schizophrenia for a drug launch. We never did launch the product as the drug did not get approval, though I was able to launch a friendship with Bill as I found him to be very inspiring.

  1. I am finally getting the film/DVD duplicated and made available for sale. A portion of the sales will be donated to mental illness charities on a regular basis, based on sales.

  2. This is fantastic! we definitely need more responsible info to the public about schizophrenia... most people are extremely ignorant about it and have a lot of fear about people who have the disease and only try to avoid them or make fun of them or advise others to hospitalize people w. schizophrenia. It isn't fair that other diseases, such as autism, and diabetes for example, have so much publicity and yet schizophrenia, which is more common then autism, so little is known about it in the general public.

  3. I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1978 and had been ill for three years prior to that, unmedicated, frightened, and in trouble with the law. I now own a successful home based transcription business, am a published writer, and have a fulfilling life, but only after many challenges. I'm glad to see this blog. I have a blog of my own called "Different Folks" which was meant to focus originally on the issue of mental health.
